Position:
Artist Profile
Manager...
We are looking to fill this position with someone who has an extensive
background in the arts and good writing skills. Responsibilities
will include seeking out artists who's work relates to philosophy,
belief and alternative spiritualities for presentation in Crescent.
The Artist Profile section is intended to feature the portfolio
work of individual, contemporary artists with particular attention
to their personal paths, goals and direction. Features on often
on emerging artists, who are presenting a new voice to the arts.
Responsibilities:
- Develop
the Artist Profile Section for each issue of the print version
of Crescent Magazine. This includes finding an artist to feature,
working with them to pick which of their works will be printed,
getting captions for each piece, obtaining a biography and artist's
statement, writing very short piece to introduce the artist.
- Develop
the Artist Profile Section for the website. This includes finding
an artist to feature, working with them to pick which of their
works will be printed, getting captions for each piece, obtaining
a biography and artist's statement, and doing an interview with
the artist.
- Contribute
ideas towards expanding the Gallery section, such as a series
of articles, list of resources etc..
Requirements:
-
Excellent communication skills
- Strong
background and experience in the arts
- Ability
to meet deadlines, and attention to detail
- Passionate
interest in the arts and spirituality, and the desire to expose
readers to a variety of art forms.

Pay is negotiable based on the amount of work, particularly if articles
are contributed in addition. Rate of pay is highly likely to increase
as the magazine grows.
