Position:
Gallery Manager...
We are looking to fill this position with someone who has an extensive
background in the arts. Responsibilities will include seeking
out and reviewing galleries and exhibits which show artwork related
to philosophy, belief and alternative spiritualities. The Gallery
section is intended to expose readers to different avenues of
the art world, to increase knowledge and understanding of different
styles and movements historically, especially in terms of how
they relate to spirituality.
Responsibilities:
- Develop
the Gallery Section for each issue of Crescent Magazine. This
includes finding a show or exhibit to feature, speaking with the
gallery on behalf of Crescent Magazine, making decisions as to
which artworks from the show will be published in the magazine
and gaining permissions from the gallery to print those works
for review purposes, and writing a detailed review of the show.
- Contribute
ideas towards expanding the Gallery section, such as a beginning
a series of articles on various art movements or developing a
list of resources for artists who wish to get their work into
galleries exhibiting art with a spiritual focus.
- Write
or assign articles to other writers which will explore the connections
between art and spirituality.
Requirements:

Excellent writing and communication skills
- Strong
background and experience in the arts or art history
- Ability
to meet deadlines, and attention to detail
- Passionate
interest in the arts and spirituality, and the desire to expose
readers to a variety of art forms.

Pay is negotiable based on the amount of work, particularly if articles
are contributed in addition. Rate of pay is highly likely to increase
as the magazine grows.
