  | Crescent Magazine features a wide variety of work: articles, profiles and interviews, columns, scholarly work, fiction, and poetry. We welcome innovative and creative ideas and project proposals which will benefit the Witch and Pagan communities. Although we accept Craft names and aliases we will not publish work anonymously.
Each issue of Crescent revolves around two central themes. The first is the seasonal focus. The second is an issue of relevance to the Witch and Pagan communities. For information on upcoming issues please see our section "Upcoming".
Authors and Artists will receive three complimentary copies of the issue in which their work appears.
|
A R T I S T S | We are now reviewing portfolios to select Artists to be featured in the Art Profile. If you are interested in having your work featured please contact Khristine. We request at least 5 works and an artist statement.
If you are interested in contributing artwork for inclusion in other sections or to accompany articles we will need to see samples of your work. Contact Khristine.
|
W R I T E R S | Crescent requires one writing sample from all prospective contributors. The sample will be reviewed by the editorial committee. When submitting a sample for review or material for publication please keep the following in mind:
Be sure to include all available contact information. This will be kept confidential, but is needed to ensure that we will be able to get in touch with you. This should include Name, Address, E-mail and Phone or Fax.
Manuscripts MUST be typed with your name on the top of each page. A hard copy of your material is required even if you send us a disk or email. If you would like the disk returned please enclose the proper self-addressed-stamped packaging. We do not print previously published material.
Never submit the only copy of your work. Always keep a copy.
We only accept Macintosh diskettes with files from the following programs: SimpleText, BBedit, Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe PageMaker, Quark. Other software may be compatible with Crescent's, check with us to be sure.
If you have a PC please contact Khristine for information on what formats to submit in.

Upon acceptance for publication there are three different deadlines. This submission-deadline policy allows us flexibility in regards to the material. It ensures an array of material that works in a cohesive manner through the two central themes while retaining diversity. This also gives us the time to assign work to our various artists to be certain their work will fit in with and enrich the written material. Because all writers have different styles and abilities this submission policy makes working with large groups of people easier to assess individually.
First is the dealine for a proposal. Basically this should be an outline or summary of what you envision writing.
Second is the dealine for the rough draft. This allows our editorial committee to read it and get a fairly good idea of what the final may be like. It also gives us something to work with as far as accompanying art work is concerned, and lets us make any necessary comments.
Any material received after the third and final dealine will not be considered for that issue - excepting special pre-discussed circumstances.
