This class will cover a wide range of topics concerning Pagan
Webcrafting including design, production, and web site promotion
with a specific focus on Pagan audiences. Students will explore
an array of basic design concepts such as color theory, visual
hierarchies and composition. Page layouts and mockup techniques
will be introduced.
Students will also begin to learn how to use Dreamweaver MX*
to produce their Web sites. This class is geared towards beginners
who have no previous knowledge of the Macromedia Dreamweaver MX*
software. We will cover the basics of this powerful, industry-standard
program. Students will learn about the pros and cons of hand-coding
verus using a visual editor and how to integrate both methods.
Students do not need to have any prior knowledge of HTML for this
course.
Students will also learn how to publicize their sites. We will
explore the options available to promote your site from major,
mainstream search engines to the popular Pagan sites that will
increase your site's exposure on the Web. Strategies for effective
online advertising and exposure will be introduced. Students will
receive a list of Pagan sites at which they can link and promote
their own sites.
*Instruction on Dreamweaver 4 is available.
For more in-depth coverage of Dreamweaver (4 or MX) students should
take the Dreamweaver class, which includes the Training
From the Source book (available for either 4 or MX) published
by PeachPit Press and Macromedia Press.
