The Community Information Programme Team, part of the Strategic
Information team for Essex County Council believe strongly
that the needs of actual and potential customers and clients
should be paramount when designing information services.
This is an issue they have pioneered in community information
in the original Seamless project which concentrated on information
local to Essex. The first step towards an online community
network in the county, Seamless formed the basis of the
current NOF funded SeamlessUK project. Essex has achieved
a national profile for leading the development of citizen-centric
information provision.
FDI has pioneered the development of methods and technologies that integrate
access to local authority, public library and local and national community information,
enabling local authorities to work smarter and improve their public information services.
The company is experienced in delivering measurable benefits through its information consultancy
services and e-government standards-based software solutions and has been proud to be the lead
technical partner in seamlessUK.
