Call For Writers & Artists:

The Labyrinth Project:
An online exploration of divinity in all its guises; be they spirits, goddesses, guardians, or other expressions of the sacred.

Crescent Needs:
We are looking for writers to do short pieces based on their creative interpretation of specific words as described below.

Project Description:
Every page in the project shows a corridor within the labyrinth (see an example of the corridor graphics to the right). Each of those pages has a unique goddess/deity featured, a brief description of who she is or what she does and what culture she is from, and a corresponding word which has a connection to that goddess - it may be that the word is descriptive of her attributes, or it may give further/deeper insight into her character. Additionally there will be a small illustration, sketch or photo based on either the goddess or word (for which we are accepting submissions of art work to review for possible inclusion) and a short writing piece (as described below).

Choosing Words to Write on:
Each word and it's corresponding goddess/deity start with the same letter, and we moved through the entire alphabet in choosing them. So in total we have 255 words which are all in need of writing. Basically what this means is you can do however many you would like. *Please email us at: waxnwane to request the list if you are interested.* We ask that you let us know which words interest you initially, so that we can get a few other people started on writing as well. You can always choose more at a later time if you wish. (The sooner you let us know, the more likely you will be to get your first choice). Perhaps choose 5 from the list which appeal to you and let us know what those are as soon as possible. We will then send you the additional descriptive information on the goddesses which go along with them, so you will have a clearer idea of why the words were picked and in what context they were associated with the goddess/deity.

Qualified essay writer from our agency will provide you with prime quality papers for a low price.

Length and Content of Writing:
In terms of the length of the writing, the pieces should be approximately 2-3 paragraphs on average for each word. Of course this can vary, from perhaps one stanza of poetry on the shorter end, to 4-5 paragraphs max on the longer end. Form and style of writing are a decision left to the writer. It just really depends on what you get a feel for in terms of the word, what you think as a writer is most appropriate for that word, just doing what it takes to best express the feel and concept of what the word means. By "what it means" we are not referring to a dictionary definition type entry (although we are not excluding such an approach if you feel it is best for a particular word), but more creative writing pieces that express the concept, the feeling, mood, tone, etc. of the word. It is not necessary for the writing to be descriptive of the goddess or deity (as the writing is particularly more about the word), but it would be good to keep in mind how the word is used in relation to her and write with that same context in mind.

Other Part of This Project In Need of Writing:
There are 56 dead-ends in the labyrinth. The dead-ends do not feature a goddess name or word, but are special explorations. These are very portions of this project - they may be extended writing, artwork, multimedia, interviews etc. The focus should be towards an aspect of spirituality, or the sacred, or the divine, in keeping with the mythological and ethereal nature of the Labyrinth. Commentary on mythologies and their functions, creative explorations, etc. If you are interested and there is an aspect of these topics which you would like to explore in any media, please contact us.
